Mieke is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated in 1998 from the University of Texas at Austin with a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She is licensed by the Texas State Board of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and is certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Since graduation, Mieke has worked with children in a variety of settings including outpatient facilities, private and public schools, and the home setting. She has treated children with a variety of disorders including Autism/PDD, Down Syndrome, Apraxia, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, language delays, and articulation impairments. Mieke has additional training in the Hanen parent training program and in Play Based Assessment and Intervention.
